Are you really proud of that picture of your limit of fish when they were gotten with less than sporting means and through not especially legal activities?

Smallmouth bass fishing along the levies that cover the outskirts of Lewiston and Clarkston has been good for the past week or so. The slightly tinted water and good flows are creating great fishing conditions for local anglers and the catches have been good well into the reservoir.
There are also reports of good activity around the Hen and Chicks area just upstream of Asotin and the Grande Ronde is kicking out some nice fish in great numbers. That is just a nice drive up the Snake and is a good place to take the kids.
Sturgeon fishing has been good but finding a place that you can keep a bait anchored has been a challenge.
With gas prices being so high are we will work at providing more information for those who are or will be bank fishing.
Note: Idaho has passed new legislation on utilizing outfitted trips with a non licensed individual on idaho waters. There is much stronger fines for the guide and the buyer will also be subject to fines. It is the buyers responsibility to utilize only Idaho licensed guides.
Sturgeon fishing on the Snake River will again become active with warmer weather stttling in.
Please use caution when angling for these fish - go prepared with the proper equipment and keep the time fighting them as short as possible. Most knowledgeable and responsible anglers start worrying if fish fight time exceeds over an hour for large fish...don't fall into the many hour fight syndrome that some people promote as a macho image thing...these fish require respect and responsible treatment. If you can't handle it - don't do it...............
Boating and fishing courtesy seems to be a very lacking commodity on our rivers.
There is a legal responsibility to running a boat just the same as an automobile. Leave the alcohol home - be safe, courteous and be a true sportsman.
